  01/25/2002 Wish I could have made it to the Las Vegas Reunion 2001 (October, 2001).  Would love to hear from anyone who was at school during the mid-50's and remembers me. Would especially like to hear from members of the graduating class and Jr class of 1957. My best friends were Alice McCurry and Lynda Robins.  Being in a graduating class of only 30,  you become close  friends with the juniors and sophomores too.   I've recently retired from the government as a Management Analyst. My husband is retired from the Military. My daughter is a lawyer and my son a forester. My husband now raises cattle. 

 11-27-06 Just looked at your site after over a year or so and am really impressed with the changes.   I am interested in attending the [CHAS 2007] Reunion.  I was a student from 1955-1957 when I graduated.  Started my sophomore year a little late but caught up quickly.  We moved into 410 in building J if I remember correctly (just seems right) and we were the first to live in that apartment.  Dad moved in several months earlier before we joined him.  Later we moved into a house in Chateauroux.   Just recently (last night) made contact with Alice McCurry (now Prell) from 1955-1957 who was my best friend.  [jpnote:  as of 5-8-08 - Alice has not signed the guestbook.]

5/24/01: I'm looking for Rosemary Burnie class of '65. She probably graduated from Auburn University in 1969. Does anyone know where she is? Has anybody heard from her? I regret having lost touch with her. Bumped into Mike Nye (class of '65) four years ago. He is a retired AF JAG officer, living in northern Virginia.

12/25/2001 - To each and all, This year has been one for the books ... the best of times...the worst of times.... The worst of it we all know too well. While the national tragedy continues to unfold, the heart and courage of the nation grow stronger. God, bless America.  The best of times was to reconnect so many people I thought I would never see again, except for the occasional random accident like running into Mike Nye in Carlisle, PA. It is good to know most of us are still out there, living our lives, and making this time and place better for it.  Here's to absent friends. This Christmas is for them, too... and Hope in the New Year. Best to all. Bonnie Baker, Class of '65.

03-27-02 Yes, the site is great. Adding the year books was yeoman's work.   I've been in touch with Carl Peters, and had an all-too-brief visit with him last spring when he and Bea drove through Montgomery. I bumped into Mike Nye in 1997 when I was in Carlisle Barracks, PA, and Bill King has been in touch.  Chuck Allen has also been a lively correspondent, and Gayla Weems, Karen Reistad, and Myra Haggard. It was great fun to visit with Fran Fricke in Daytona last October. It looks like I'll be moving to Eglin AFB within three months, but the e-mail won't change, so it would be a treat to e-chat with everybody.  Has anybody heard from Rosemary Burnie?

8-22-04 - Today is 22 August 2004. I just spent all afternoon catching up on forty years with Karen Reistad -- or trying to. We called Carl Peters and scolded him for not keeping up. He was duly repentent, but he has a good excuse. He is moving. I moved to Tampa last February, and am working for SOCOM at MacDill. Karen lives in Ruskin, about 25 miles away. If any of the old gang is coming this way, I'm in the phone book. Give me a shout and we'll get together.

12-18-06  Christmas 2006 - Elder son, Baker Quinby, got married on June 10^th to Terri Lacey. It was a beautiful ceremony in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery. Since Baker is stationed in Honolulu with NGA, guess where they honeymooned?  Honeymoons in Hawaii must have magical properties because the baby is due March 10^th.  They already know the baby is a little girl. Alex, Bonnie’s younger son, is still in Birmingham and loves it.  His business in lighting design is going extremely well, and he is getting offers to do projects in Boston and Las Vegas.  Here’s hoping that this Christmas is the most blessed ever, and that all of 2007 is the Best of Times for you and yours.

10/21/2002:  My husband James Thompson and I both went to school [at Chad].   Jim graduated from there in  1964.  My dad was transferred to Colorado Springs, so I graduated from there in 1965. We would love to hear from former classmates.

 Jim and Linda Thompson, the last 35 years:

     After graduating, Jim joined the Air Force in 1965, and ended up in the Philippines, with a short stint in Vietnam.   My dad was transferred to Colorado Springs, so we left Chateauroux in Feb of 1965. I ended up graduating from Roy J. Wasson High School in Colorado Springs. Our old friend, Charlene Moore, got us back together after Jim was transferred to Georgia in 1968.
    Jim and I married in 1968. We were married for over 8 years in which time we lived in Macon, Georgia; Biloxi, Mississippi and Ipswich, England. Jim was in Libya and Turkey also. We left England in 1972 and went to Mather AFB, in Sacramento, CA. We divorced in 1976.
    In 1996, we remarried and have been living in California ever since. We have a daughter, Kathy (husband Ken, and two wonderful granddaughters, Mary 9, and Melanie 7). They also manage apartments and Ken works for an underground cable company. Our son, Jimmy, is still single and just got out of the Air Force. He is in Air Traffic Control.
    We manage an apartment building in Riverside, CA with 120 units. I run the office while Jim takes care of the rehabs. We have been doing this kind of work for nearly 7 years now. Jim has been in construction for over 25 years, and I have worked in every facet of management and some retail for over 25 years.
    We bowl twice a week, and sometimes 3 times a week on Vegas leagues (which means we go to Vegas for the sweepers events). We enjoy that a lot, and other than that we enjoy visiting with our kids, grandkids, playing cards; still play pinochle when we can find partners.
Both of Jim's parents are deceased within the last 6 years. Mine have been divorced for years; my dad lives in Alabama and my mother in Oklahoma. They both remarried and I have great "step" parents on both sides.
    Jim's brothers are all scattered; Joe in Long Beach; Jerry (is a catholic priest) has just moved to another parish here in CA; John in New Jersey and his sister Joyce just moved back to CA.  My brother, Homer, passed away last January 2002. That is the short version of our history in the last 35 years.

1-9-05 Just checking in, as we haven't been on this site for awhile, but it is very good, and getting better every time we look.

Geez.. such a pest is Miss J making me sign the guest book. The reunion in Chateauroux was a 5 star production from start to finish. Valerie, Mike, Annette et tous les folks involved did a fantastic job. There was never a dull moment. We should plan a reunion someplace in the middle of the country - say St. Louis - for next fall. I went up to see Wendy Miller on 8/11 & we laughed for hours as we went through the yearbooks. We also may have had a glass or two to toast Chateauroux.....

6-20-03  What a great time we had at the reunion in Tahoe. Weather was great, events ran smoothly and all were very hospitable. Not a single person has aged a day. Amazing.

11-27-04  I miss all the kids I knew at Chateauroux high school during those wonderful years. My best memory is being on the varsity wrestling team and taking trips to the different schools. The best memories are the dances at quontown recreation center on friday nights. God bless to all of you.

4-4-05 I have a brother John who graduated in 1963 from Chateauroux, and a sister Jackie who graduated with me in 1966. My sister was a cheerleader who later married Mike Tebbets and I was on the wrestling team from 1964-1966. I am now happily married and live in Penn Valley, Ca. to a wonderful lady for the last 30 years. I worked for the school system as an educator for 25 years and now am retired.
